About the Chorale
The Chorale is an 80-voice ensemble that performs a wide range of a
cappella and accompanied choral music, including works from the classic
choral literature, commissioned literature, as well as folk, jazz and
the popular song literature. This year, the Capitol Hill Chorale enters
its 11th season of music-making on Capitol Hill. Works performed include
Bach’s St. John Passion, Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil and
Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and the Brahms’ Requiem. Members
audition to join the Chorale and are drawn from Capitol Hill and throughout
the Washington metropolitan area. Rehearsals are 7:30 to 10 p.m. every
Tuesday night.
Singers interested in auditioning for the Chorale should send an email
to info@capitolhillchorale.org. Auditions are generally held in late
August or may be scheduled by special arrangement with the artistic
