About the Chorale

The Chorale is an 80-voice ensemble that performs a wide range of a cappella and accompanied choral music, including works from the classic choral literature, commissioned literature, as well as folk, jazz and the popular song literature. This year, the Capitol Hill Chorale enters its 11th season of music-making on Capitol Hill. Works performed include Bach’s St. John Passion, Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil and Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and the Brahms’ Requiem. Members audition to join the Chorale and are drawn from Capitol Hill and throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Rehearsals are 7:30 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday night.

Singers interested in auditioning for the Chorale should send an email to info@capitolhillchorale.org. Auditions are generally held in late August or may be scheduled by special arrangement with the artistic director. For more information about the Chorale, visit www.capitolhillchorale.org. Season tickets or tickets for individual performances can be purchased through CHAW.
