Darius is a classically trained Countertenor presently pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance w. a Concentration in Communication Disorders & Music Cognition at Ithaca College. He has served as a Guest Musical Theatre Instructor at Dixie Arts Conservatory; a Teaching Fellow in collaboration with Renzulli Discovery at Yale University; and has given masterclasses and lectures in the greater Los Angeles and New York District as an avid ambassador of the arts in partnership with Los Angeles Opera and Gymboree; in addition, he has given workshops at Ithaca College in partnership with Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers as an Alto Teaching Assistant.
In this recital and lecture series, he will present the works of Handel, Schubert, Massenet, Schumann, and various contemporary presentations. It is his hope to utilize music as a vehicle of love and motivation in a world filled of hatred, division, and perpetuated disruption. In the face of oppression, we must always hear the music even when there is no music playing. When we are in the face of opposition we as artists must continue sharing our stories, raising our voices, and offering hope in difficult times. We are the healers of the future.
