Light Switch Dance Theater

A Light Mix: Wine, Cheese, Dance- provides safe and engaging space for artists to present new/revised work. Artists are encouraged to present works in progress or a piece from the past in the revision process. Wine, cheese, and dessert are served after the performance when the audience and artists have the opportunity to connect.

Friday ARTnight: Working from the Figure

Working from nude models, students will develop accuracy and expressiveness in rendering the human figure. Instruction will be individual with an emphasis on working with each student’s strengths and experience. The class will be complemented with theory and examples in art history. It is assumed that all students taking this class have some prior drawing experience. New students should bring an 18x24 newsprint pad, an 18x24 Strathmore Drawing pad, kneaded eraser and extra soft vine charcoal to the first class. The class is facilitated by master engraver and artist Will Fleishell.

Light Switch Dance Theatre Presents: RedLines: The Boundaries Created

RedLines: The Boundaries Created is a multi-disciplinary work choreographed and written by Sandra C. Atkinson (Founder/Artistic Director of Light Switch Dance Theatre) in collaboration with LSDT Performers and Sarah Scafidi. Through dance, theatre, and film the work will examine housing discrimination through both structural and perceived boundaries. LSDT aims to explore and challenge housing discrimination throughout history to address its significance in the 21st century. Who benefits? Who suffers?
