With almost 45 years of experience building community through the arts in countless classes, workshops, residencies, trainings and performances, CHAW is uniquely positioned to share its passion and expertise for upholding and uplifting the value of art, artists and artful thinking in many contexts. We believe not only is art the answer to pretty much everything – it also compels us to ask the right questions.
Share your passion and skill with eager students of all ages. CHAW is always on the lookout for talented, community-minded artists who love what they do and get energy from taking into the classroom. If you are creative, organized, reliable and collaborative, CHAW may be just the right place for you. Applications accepted on a rolling basis with seasonal and semester-based session job openings. Interested teaching artists should submit a resume, work sample, proposal, and letter of inquiry to CHAW’s Program Director, Stephanie Morse.
The gallery features a range of professional and student artists in shows and residencies throughout the year. CHAW’s gallery is home to the Capitol Hill Art League, a consortium of emerging and professional artists who showcase, and sell member work, offer professional development and outside showing opportunities including CHAW's Artist is Residence.
The Capitol Hill Art League is a consortium of 100+ local artists who mount seven juried shows per year in CHAW's Gallery Space. Dedicated to providing show, sales and professional development opportunities to new and established artists, this program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop is run by volunteer members. Annual membership dues are $50.
