“Urban Eyes” with Camille Clifton, aka The Girl From Nowhere
The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop is excited to host “Urban Eyes, A Photography Exhibition with Camille Clifton, aka The Girl From Nowhere (TGFN)” running until February 25, 2014 in CHAW’s gallery.
“Urban Eyes is an homage to the marks and signs of life that define or destroy us, between truth and reality,” says TGFN. “The photographs are my eyes speaking and you are having a first row seat to my soul. It is a reflection of my true essence: travel and observations. Being a traveler, I seek purity in all its grandeur and beauty.”
In addition to the gallery show, CHAW and Camille invite you to examine your own reflections on Urban Art through the following upcoming FREE events:

Kids explore the works on show with tools (flash cards + games) to identify signs, colors, shapes and moods.
- Grades K-2 11:00-11:45 a.m.
What do you Find + Discover?
Kids discover the works on show by comparing & sharing their thoughts/observations on their findings with tools (critical thinking + games).
- Grades 3-5 11:50-12:35 p.m.
Can you Create + Wonder?
Kids examine the works on show to create or re-create from a piece and learn to wonder about how a photograph stimulates the five senses.

Tokyo-born, TGFN aka Camille Clifton is French/American, a native of Paris & Rhode Island, based between the USA and Europe. She studied Art History, Studio Art and Interior Design.
At 20, she opened her first Art Gallery promoting Haitian Art in Newport, Rhode Island. She worked as a set decorator for Miramax Films. For 8 years, she was an art consultant working in Bucharest, Skopje and Belgrade; where she partnered with other interior designers, banks, companies, embassies and private clients with art acquisitions and consulting. She collaborated with the European Central Bank’s art curator in Frankfurt in selecting artists for a special exhibition. She delivered presentations to various organizations, including a featured segment on Romanian Television on the topic of Romanian Contemporary Art.
Today, she exhibits her art (paintings & photographs) in galleries & private shows in Paris, Bucharest, Frankfurt and the United States.
She published her first book “The Girl From Nowhere’s Eyes Speak: a collection of photographs” (2013). Autographed copies on sale now at CHAW! Her second book “Massive Waste of Time” is due to be released in 2014.
