Photograms & Darkroom hand-building
Teaching Artist- Katherine Akey
11/13/2017 - 12/4/2017
Tuition - $190.00
This camera-less class takes students into the darkroom where they will create images using objects, stencils and other materials laid directly on traditional black and white photo paper. This method of image making is highly creative and hands on, allowing students to work with light and material in a way unique to a traditional darkroom setting. Photograms are a unique application of photographic materials loved by artists like Man Ray, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Imogen Cunningham and Pablo Picasso.
No photography experience necessary, an introduction to the darkroom chemistry and process will be included!
Teaching Artist- Dale Scherfling
11/14/2017 - 12/5/2017
Tuition - $160.00
A hands-on workshop for shooters - those who get it right in the camera first, rather than correcting mistakes afterward. A hands-on workshop for those with a minimum of equipment, seeking to get the most from their cameras and their art.
Photojournalists are paid for their time on the streets, shooting - not on the computer. We'll work together, indoors and out, honing camera-handling skills as well as our creative shooting eyes, followed by sharing sessions for positive critique and feedback.
